“The PKK’s decision to respond to Mr. Abdullah Öcalan’s call for dissolution and to lay down arms at this critical and decisive stage is a historic step, and we welcome it.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, as always, is eager for the success of the peace process and will be a partner and supporter of all parties to ensure the success of this effort. We believe that laying down arms is part of this process, and other steps and components of the process must also be implemented to achieve the goals we have strived for.
We guide our national strategy by following the footsteps of President Mam Jalal, who, as the first leader, took on the responsibility of advancing the peace process. Today, we continue our efforts to ensure the success of this historic step.
I emphasize that the only path to stability in the Middle East is the peaceful resolution of the Kurdish issue.
My hope is for the success of the peace process in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey, so that a new chapter of politics and diplomacy can be opened among all parties, steps can be taken toward joint cooperation, and a positive impact can be made across all of Kurdistan.”
