— Devlet Bahçeli, head of Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party, expressed gratitude to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Abdullah Öcalan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and the Imrali delegation, stating: “It is essential to create an environment of lasting and genuine peace and security. This country belongs to all of us; this is a matter of honor and dignity for everyone living in this country.”
In a written statement, Bahçeli noted: “Turk and Kurd have always been one and together. Today, peace and brotherhood prevail; today, politics and democracy prevail. From east to west, from south to north, the Turkish nation prevails.”
Bahçeli thanked Erdoğan for making a terror-free Turkey a government policy, and praised the efforts of Abdullah Öcalan, leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, for taking historical responsibility with his February 27 call for peace and a democratic society. He also said: “I respectfully commemorate the late Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who passed away on May 3, 2025, and rendered great service with dedication to the goal of a terror-free Turkey.” Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the delegations that held meetings between Imrali, DEM Party, and Qandil, along with the co-chairs, leadership, and parliamentary representatives of the DEM Party.
