Today, following the fourth round of U.S.-Iran negotiations, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated: “We are serious in the negotiations and are seeking an agreement, but the idea of Iran abandoning its nuclear facilities is unacceptable.”
—Steve Witkoff, U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Iran-U.S. negotiations, said in an interview with an American network on May 9, 2025: “Iran cannot enrich uranium; that is our red line. Iran cannot own uranium enrichment equipment (centrifuges). Iran must dismantle its uranium enrichment facilities. If the talks with Iran next Sunday are not fruitful, we will not continue and will pursue another path.”
